Feed the Animals Delta saw an increase of almost 300 per cent in donations this past Christmas compared to 2010.

The donations allowed the group to provide Deltassist with 429 pet food baskets, a record number, for registered low-income families’ companion animals.

“The generous nature of people this year was overwhelming and we would like to thank everyone who found it in their hearts to help out this year,” the group stated in a press release.

The group wished to thank:

. Megan Spires and everyone at Jamieson’s Pet Food Distributors (donated over 300 bags of food – Feed the Animals’ largest contributor).

. Mark Redman, owner of Feelgood Treat Company (donated 125 stockings of hand-crafted and 100 per cent all natural, treats for dogs and cats).

. Mia Riback, and Jake & Daisey Pet Supplies (a truck full of dog food, and some handmade pet accessories).

. All the staff at the Bosley’s, Pet Solutions and Pets N’ Us around Delta.

. Carly Geistlinger at Deltassist for helping the group stay on track with the needs of all the Delta registrants.

It was the sixth year Feed the Animals Delta has conducted a food drive to help low-income families over the holiday season.
